Automobiles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report
Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.
Police state they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then discovered multiple other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
An important official stated the incident made him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
