Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after that period of that year.
Success also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
His retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to force a decider.
Moutet saved 4 early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
